Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir chairperson Shabir Ahmad Shah Sunday visited the residences of militants who were killed Kellar, Shopian gunfight with armed forces on Thursday and expressed solidarity with their families, a party statement said.

Pertinently, five militants were killed on Thursday in Shopian in a gun battle with police and army.

“During the Pakharpora visit, the leaders took out the condolence procession to martyr’s graveyard where Shabir Ahmad Shah prayed for their highest status in Jannah,” the statement said.

Shah while addressing the gathering said the slain militants fulfilled their “great responsibilities with regards to freedom movement”.

“Now, it is our responsibility to take forward their mission as we are the guardians of their precious sacrifices and we’ll not rest till we take their mission to logical conclusion,” the statement quoted Shah as having said.

Lashing out at pro-India politicians, Shah said, “They are following the politics of deceit which comes from New Delhi.”

He also termed the endeavours of local Hindu parties of Jammu vis-à-vis settling the West Pakistan refugees there as ‘shameful’ and said these parties are playing the role of right arm for New Delhi and are hell bent upon auctioning our identity and status.

“As far as settling West Pak refugees in JK is concerned, it has been decided that at international level and according to partition guidelines, these refugees cannot be settled here in Jammu Kashmir,” Shah said.

“The BJP regime in New Delhi had already planned it to settle these refugees here and now they want to give shape to their designs but we’ll never allow them to succeed in their conspiracies of eroding the Muslim majority status of the state. We’ll unite in combating their onslaught,” he further said.

Shah was accompanied by JKLF-R chairman Farooq Ahmad Dar alias Bita Karatey, Muslim League’s Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo, Bilal Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Haroon Kashmiri, Farooq Ahmad and HCJK and Freedom Party activists, the statement informed.
