SRINAGAR: A biker collided with a police vehicle in Shopian Sunday evening and was critically injured. They were coming from different directions. He was rushed to hospital in Shopian and referred immediately to Srinagar but he died midway.
Identified as Qasim Mushtaq Mir, a resident of Aliyalpora, Shopian, and police said they have registered a case.
Details suggest that Mir was on his way to Shopian and the Rukshak, part of SHO Hirpora’s set-up was on way to his office. They had a collision at Kanipora near the Fire station. Police said two persons were injured of whom one died.
Police have seized the vehicle and taken the driver into custody. FIR 253 of 2017 has been registered and investigations have been started, police said.
