Bollywood’s erstwhile heartthrob Rishi Kapoor shot 14 films in Kashmir between 1972 and 1988. It included his super-hit Bobby.
The rise of militancy led the film industry hunt for other options. Now after 23 long years, Rshi Kapoor visited Srinagar only to find that the place is as romantic as it was decades ago.

He was on a personal visit but interacted with the media to send the message around that Kashmir is “all about romance”. Kapoor said there is no second option Kashmir as for as natural sets are concerned but for getting Bollywood back to the Vale he said an atmosphere needs to be created. Flanked by producer Imtiaz Ali, Kapoor interacted with his old friends in hospitality sector and drove around Srinagar as well. Ali shot part of his Rockstar recently in Pahalgam that features Kapoor’s son Ranbir.

Separated from her son for 20 years, septuagenarian Reshma Begum crossed LoC last week to meet him in PaK. She was missing from her Choorand Nar hamlet for four days forcing her relatives to register a missing report with the local police. The subsequent investigations revealed that she crossed over to other side to meet her son Abdul Rahim. For the last many years, she was desperately trying to get permission to crossover using the trans-LoC weekly bus but she failed to get a ticket. Tired of a long wait, she went on her own. Police say they are still investigating the case to get full details.
