The 434-km-long Srinagar-Leh highway, linking Ladakh region with Kashmir valley, has been closed due to fresh snowfall since late Wednesday night.
However, Srinagar-Jammu highway and historic Mughal road, connecting Shopian in southern Kashmir with Rajouri and Poonch in Jammu region are through for traffic, a traffic police official said.
He said there was fresh snowfall at Sonamarg, Zojila and Meenamarg on Ladakh highway during the night.
”Due the snowfall the road has turned slippery and therfore we have suspended traffic on the highway till further notice.”
