Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leader Yashwant Sinha , who led teams to Kashmir twice last year, after months long uprising erupted following the killing Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani has said that he had sought meeting with Prime Minister but there was no responce.

In an interview with The Indian Express he said “I left a request for a meeting, but unfortunately there has been no response.”

He said the delegation was “just a group of concerned citizens.”

While reacting on the question about the response of government on their report he said, “We are still waiting for a response. They (government) need not respond to us, but they should respond to the situation. We would say they have responded to the situation, if they abide by the promises they themselves have made in the agenda of alliance between the PDP and the BJP, which is now 25 months old.”

Sinha’s five member delegation visited Kashmir at the peak of uprising.
