SRINAGAR: Music lovers and followers of Sufi saint and poet Faqir Nyam Sahib attended elaboreate functions at his tomb in Habakadal. People from various places of Kashmir joined the Urs at Baba Pora Habba Kadal in the old city Srinagar.
Nyam Sahib, born in Srinagar in 1805, is known for his classical poetry which had a great impact on the people of Kashmir. He was a preacher of Sufism and mutual brotherhood. His poetry conveys love for Allah and his creation. He conveys the message of humanity and high traditions of Kashmir.
Meanwhile Urs of Baba Hyder Reshi (Resh Moul) has started in Islamabad. Ziyarat Reshi Sahib, the 452th annual Urs of Hazrat Hyder Baba Reshi (RA), popularly known as Resh Moul Sahib (RA) is being celebrated from July 22, to July 26, 2017.
The Reshi Moul is said to have played a principal role in the spread of Islam in the Islamabad area of south kashmir and also to have constructed numerous mosques, rest-houses and ponds and to have planted several fruit-bearing trees. He breathed his last in 982 AH.
