Police arrested three drug peddlers and recovered 40 kilograms of Poppy Straw from their possession.
During Naka checking a police party led by DO Police Post Soibugh, Sub Inspector Mohammed Saleem, intercepted a Tata Mobile 207 bearing registration number JK04A-2805. On its checking police recovered 40 kilograms of Poppy Straw. The peddlers who were transporting Poppy Straw have been taken into custody and were identified as Sonaullah Sheikh son of Abdul Karim, Ismail Bhat son of Ali Mohammad Ashraf Kambay son of Abdul Ahad (Driver) all resident of Warsangam Soibugh, Budgam, a police statement said Friday afternoon.
Meanwhile one person was injured in a road accident in District Kulgam.
A Load carrier met with an accident at Syphan near DK Marg Bridge, DH Pora, resulting in critical injuries to its driver Shabir Ahamd Malik son of Mohammad Qasim Malik resident of Adapora. The injured was shifted SMHS Hospital, Srinagar for treatment, the police statement added.
