Jammu

As the Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti took up age relaxation issues of Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) examination with In charge Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) Jitendra Singh, the Government has reportedly agreed to give one-time relaxation of five years in qualifying age for UPSC candidates of Jammu Kashmir.

As a matter of fact, thousands of students have already prepared for the examinations; the DoPT Minister is reported to have agreed to a one-time extension for Jammu Kashmir candidates.

Mehbooba Mufti, CM had tweeted: “Spoke to MoS PMO @Dr Jitendra Singh Ji regarding the enhancement in the upper age limit for UPSC aspirants of J&K. He has assured me of positive response.”

The decision of scrapping the upper age limit had generated a lot of flak.

Meanwhile, former Jammu Kashmir chief minister and senior NC Leader  Omar Abdullah also took up the matter in assembly yesterday and asked the government to take immediate steps to restore the age relaxation. (KNB)
