Violent protests are going on in Narbal area in city outskirts against the death of a youth early Saturday morning.

Reports said that youth and forces are engaged in ding dong battles as the body of the slain youth lies in main chowk Narbal. Suhail lived at Bazaar Mohall which is adjacent to main chowk.

Pertinently, three youth got injured when forces opened fire on protesting youth in Narbal area early Saturday. Hurriyat G chairman Syed Ali Geelani had called for protests and strike today against Tral Killings and arrest of Hurriyat leaders.

“The body of Suhail Ahmad Sofi lay in main chowk Narbal as shelling and stone pelting is going on,” an eye witness said.

He informed that when Suhail’s body was brought from JVC hospital, violent protests took place and severe clashes were going on.

Suhail Ahmad Sofi, 17 years old, was tenth class student at Government Boys High School, Narbal. Abdul Ahad Sofi, father of Suhail Ahmad Sofi, is retired State Forest Corporation employee. Suhail has two sisters and two brothers (Aijaz and Umar) who are associated with public transport.
