A day after militants killed a soldier in Handwara Tehsil of Kupwara district of north Kashmir, Government forces Tuesday continued their operation in Wadarbala forests to flush out the group of militants.

Defense sources told CNS that a joint column of Army, Special Operation Group and CRPF continued their search operation in Wadarbala forests of Handwara town for the consecutive day on Tuesday. He said that due to dense forest area, it is difficult to locate the militants.

“The search operation is going on and all resources are being utilized to apprehend or eliminate the militants,” an official said.

Pertinently, an Army soldier of 30 Rashtriya Rifles was killed in a militant ambush in the same area on Monday morning.
