Flouting all norms, Jammu Kashmir Muslim Wakf Board has re-employed blue-eyed and retired officials from political background recently.

Reliable sources told news agency CNS that Muslim Wakf Board recently invited applications for the post of Accounts Officer and others. “According to Wakf Book Rules maximum age for re-employment is 62 years, while regular employees attain superannuation at the age 58.”

In a bid to accommodate recently retired, Wakf Board altered its own rules and fixed the re-employment age as 65 years.

Sources said that despite having competent regular employees, the broad prefers retired employees to run its affairs. “Four major posts vis-a-vis General Manager, Financial Advisor, Principal and Account Officer are being held by the retired officials,” sources said and added that these posts are deliberately being kept vacant to adjust blue eyed, or those who have their connections in power corridors.

Pertinently, Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, who is also chairperson of the Board, had recently directed the administration to strictly adhere to laid down rules in case of re-employment in the Board. (CNS)
