Antigovernment-slogans and noisy protests disrupted the Legislative Assembly Budget session on Wednesday.

The opposition Congress and National Conference (NC) staged the walkout from question hour following government’s failure for not divulging the reasons behind the sacking of SKIMS Director Dr A G Ahangar and to end staff strike in SKIMS, Hospital.

After pleading for nearly 10 minutes with the Speaker, the Opposition parties walked out of the Assembly.
However, leaders of the NC, Congress, CPI(M) as well as Independent legislators walked out of the House.

The members thronged the well of the house demanding a reply from the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti as she is the chairperson of the institute.

Meanwhile, the legislators from ruling PDP also raised the issue and protests against the decision of attaching the director.

Earlier, also Opposition had staged walkout over administrative units.
