Mansbal LogoGeneral Officer Commanding 15 Corps Srinagar, Lt Gen Subrata Saha Thursday said that they shall consider taking over Sainik School Manasbal “if the demand arises”.

“We will sincerely think about it if we are asked to take over the establishment of Sainik School Manasbal,” Gen Saha said, on the sidelines of a function at the school premises here. “I will still talk about it with the people concerned.”

Pertinently, Sainik School Manasbal is the only ‘Sainik School’ amongst 26 Sainik Schools established across India which runs under state government of Jammu and Kashmir unlike rest which are managed by Ministry of Defence, Government of India.

Earlier, Gen Saha assured the school management that army shall provide all logistic support to the administration.

“We shall facilitate training programs for teachers at our defence colleges across India,” he said asking the school administration if such is the need. “We will send cadets from the school to our Pune based engineering and medical colleges while coaching for NDA and other allied courses shall be done here in the school.”

He also said that he shall take up the issue of school fencing with J&K CM. “I am meeting CM Mufti Muhammad Sayeed after a few days wherein I shall take up the issue of border fencing of school with him,” he said.
