As follow up action J&K Yateem Foundation (JKYF) Bandipora district distributed 2nd relief consignment among around 60 families comprising around 350 souls, that were directly and indirectly affected due to massive fire incident at Kilshey Tetri, Qurashpora and Shikarigaon villages of Tulail in Gurez area along Line of Control (LoC) in Bandipora district in northern part of Kashmir on October 21 and intervening night of October 27 & 28.
“An amount of about Rs 3.35 Lacs was expended by the Foundation for the arrangement of relief and other essential items. The expenditure incurred was donated partly in cash by several donors connected through ‘House of Wisdom’ WhatsApp group in Srinagar and in kind form by other philanthropists from other areas in the Valley,” a statement of Jammu and Kashmir Yateem Foundation said in a statement.
The relief items comprising of branded household steel, aluminium & plastic utility items and edible oil was distributed among the affected families in Tulail areas. In addition, ladies & gents clothing material including sweaters, coats, jackets, Cloaks (pherans), Shalwar Kameez, shawls, children clothing and other warm clothes donated by the philanthropists in Srinagar and elsewhere, was also distributed among the affected people in Kilshey Tetri, Qurashpora and Shikarigaon villages in Tulail area of Gurez.
Three truckloads of cattle fodder was also distributed among the farming community in the affected areas. JKYF’s Tehsil Representative (TR) Sonawari Bandipora Mohammad Rafiq Parray arranged two truckloads while JKYF’s Pulwama District Representative (DR) Master Mohammad Amin Bhat arranged one truckload of cattle fodder.
A sample medicine carton containing top quality antibiotics, anti-allergic and cough syrups, capsules, drops and tablets donated by premier healthcare voluntary organization Help Poor Voluntary Trust (HPVT), was handed over to the medical professionals posted in the area for distribution among the affected and needy patients including old aged and children as per the requirement.
