The family of a youth who was hit by a bullet after the DySP of Police Muhamamd Ayoub fired indiscriminately on a group of people who confronted him, staged a protest.

The family alleged that Danish Mir was arrested from SMHS hospital Srinagar by police as soon as he was taken out from the operation theatre on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.

The family alleged: “Police told us that if he remains in the hospital, Ayoub’s family will come here and will kill him.”

The family alleged that policemen in civvies came into the hospital premises and called my husband. They told him that they are taking Danish for his safety. “Without caring about his injuries they took and left provided no information as to know where my son is,” Danish’s mother said.

She further said that police took mobile phones of her husband as well as Danish.

A resident of Rathpora in Eidgah locality of Srinagar, Danish passed his class 12 examinations and now is running a Momo shop in Nawa Kadal.

The aggrieved mother said that Danish accompanied her o Jamia Masjid for Shab. “Soon after he finished prayers he went to his aunt who lives in the vicinity.”

“He told me in the hospital that when I came out I saw a huge crowd and I tried to look what is happening there. Within no time I got bullet in my leg and was taken to the hospital by some unknown guys,” said Danish’s mother.

The police officials at the Nowhatta police station said that they cannot reveal details about Danish over phone.
