Once again girls have outshined boys in the 12th class results declared on Wednesday, with a pass percentage of 59.75 against 58.30 per cent boys.

In science stream, five students have secured 1st position securing 490 marks out of 500.

Amara Wani daughter of Muzaffar ul Islam from Iqbal Memorial higher secondary school, Bemina; Bisma Zahoor daughter of Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh from Saint Joseph school Baramulla; Kamran Ahmad Qureshi son of Mushtaq Ahmad Qureshi from New Dream Land secondary school Ganderbal; Mehran Ali Banka son of Maqsood Ali Banka from Tyndale Biscoe school; Nuha Bilal daughter of Bilal Ahmad Sheikh from Presentation Convent higher secondary school have secured 98 per cent marks in Science streams.

In Arts stream, Sana Shafiq daughter of Shafiq Ahmad Pandit from Government higher secondary school Kothi Bagh has secured 1st position with 489 marks out of 500 (97.8 per cent).

In Commerce stream, Rahila Hafiz daughter of Hafizullah Rather from Government higher secondary school Delina has secured 1st position with 483 marks out of 500 (96.6 per cent).

While Asma Shakeel daughter of Shakeel Ahmad Bagwan from Jamia School Banaat, Lal Bazar, has secured 1st position in Home Science with 490 marks out of 500 (98 per cent).

A total of 52268 students had appeared in the examination out of which 30814 were declared qualified.

The total pass percentage is 59 per cent.
