BIJBEHARA

Three officials of the Jammu and Kashmir Information department, including the Islamabad District Information Officer, were put under suspension after Chief Minister Omar Abdullah failed to address a rally in the district due to a fault in the public address system on Saturday.

Officials sources said that Islamabad District Information Officer Tanveer Ahmad and two other officials were placed under suspension after the public address system stopped functioning as the chief minister was about to begin his speech at a rally in a village near Bijbehara.

The chief minister then left the venue without addressing the gathering they added.

Pertinently, the National Conference workers protested by pelting stones and smashing the furniture when the ‘annoyed’ Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who is also the working president of the party, left the venue without delivering his lecture due to some fault in the sound system.
