SRINAGAR

All the shops, business establishments and schools remain closed in all part of Kashmir in response to the call given by all separatist groups to protest against the visit of the prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson, Sonia Gandhi.

Photo journalist of Kashmir Life, Bilal Bhadur visited the city and caught the situation in his camera. The locals allege that the men in uniform did not allow them move freely and it looked as if “they were implementing the strike call of separatists”.

KHANYAR

Large numbers of police and paramilitary forces are deployed in Srinagar, a day after a daring militant attack in which eight army men  were killed and 13 others were wounded.

Police have closed off several main roads and Paramilitary troopers with automatic weapons are out to restrict the people’s movement.

Paramilitary while questioning a foreigner tourist in Khanyaar area of Srinagar.

Even the world famous Dalgate, which remains abuzz with tourists has been put under strict restrictions. The traffic police city had already issued a traffic plan for this particular area of Srinagar in which the route was put out of bounds for the locals on June 25 and 26.

  1. kashmirs donot want dole_out charity from GoI but want our powerprojects back from NHPC forthwith if found a bit of sincerety in the heart of PM
