Two militants and five CRPF personnel died in the Bemina firing incident Wednesday morning, Police spokesman told Kashmir Life.
Unidentified gunmen appeared in Bemina area of the Srinagar near police public school and opened heavy firing on a deployment party. The militants also lobbed hand grenades on the CRPF party resulting in the death of five CRPF personnel, the spokesman added.
The CRPF stationed in the nearby camp surrounded the militants resulting in an encounter. The police spokesman said that the encounter ended on the death of two militants and five CRPF men.
However police did not immediately identified the dead militants.
The eyewitnesses told Kashmir Life that at least three civilians also were injured in the incident who were rushed to hospital. The details are awaited.
