01kashmir5Scores of volunteers were seen with brooms following their Srinagar candidate Dr Raja Muzaffar Bhat, the RTI activist who is contest Lok Sabha polls against Dr Farooq Abdullah and Tariq Hamid Karra. The volunteers had gone to the Srinagar airport wherefrom they collected their leader and drove him to the city.

“AAP leaders have backed me for the cleansing operations in the governance structure of the state,” Raja, a dental surgeon, told his volunteers. “We will ensure that nobody sleeps hungry.”

Raja said his party will investigate all the rackets that were buried under the carpet by various successive regimes. “We will fight to get all the projects back from the NHPC because the people of Kashmir are the real owners of all thee power stations,” he said.

Raja was heard by scores of people, mostly youngsters, who were wearing the AAP-caps and carrying brooms. Some of them put in a show to clean the road with their party symbol.

Most of the volunteers who could greet Raja after his arrival back home were from Budgam. He told people that he would be driving striaghtawy to Charar-e-Sharief.

Raja, a senior RTI activist hales from Wathoora in Budgam. Last summer he had joined PDP but could not stay in the party for more than six months. A frequent writer, Raja has been guiding people about the use of RTI to expose the big and mighty. His efforts helped crack a major racket in the IAY in Budgam. For the last one year, his activism over the extension of lease over Tosa Maidan to the army has led the issue become a major part of the evolving discourse across the political parties.01kashmir1

A dental surgeon who has avoided to get into the government service has his wife and sisters serving the government. His grand parents – from both sides, have retired as Deputy Commissioner rank officers. His father is a retired government official who is now a practicing lawyer.
