Addressing a gathering of party workers in Bijbehera on the third anniversary of her late father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, former Chief Minister and PDP President Mehbooba Mufti apologised for her “toffee, milk and army camps” remark. “It was a mother’s reaction to save kids from going near the army camps. They are our own kids. My statement regarding kids was out of anger to save them,” Mehooba told her party workers. “If my statement has hurt anyone, I apologise. It was purely a mother’s reaction.”
Mehbooba was addressing a gathering at the mausoleum of late father Mufti Sayeed. “The only agenda of my party is aimed for the peace process between India and Pakistan,” she said.
Commenting on the reasons behind PDP’s alliance with BJP, Mehbooba said, “I was not willing for it. But I made an alliance with BJP on conditions like the return of power projects, talks with Pakistan, demilitarisation and removal of forces. But BJP along with few of my own men weekend my position. The members of my party went to Nagpur on their own.”
Talking about the youth who lost their lives in post-Burhan Wani agitation, Mehbooba said these kids campaigned for her during elections and then the same kids protested against her. “It was the toughest time for me to see their anger,” she said.
Talking about the peace in Kashmir, Mehbooba said the last wish of her father was peace and talks. She said that she has not compromised as she promised amnesty and then implemented. “I even tried to extend the ceasefire for 6 months,” she said.
Talking about the Kathua rape and Murder case, Mehbooba said she ensured justice in Rasana and didn’t allow CBI to takeover like Shopian rape and murder case. “Not only this, I never compromised on special status, and never allowed BJP to tinker with it,” she said.
Mehbooba said she visited militant families in south Kashmir to offer the condolences on the request of their families. “There was no politics in it. I will continue doing it by going door-to-door. I don’t want votes but it’s my duty to reach out there,” she said.
I find this woman – mehbooba mufti quite a silly stupid dreamer. Pakistan will never stop interfering and supporting separatists in the Valley. As a matter of fact, pakis consider kashmir as theirs. LoL. This woman and that abdula family are running a lucrative business in the name of kashmir. These 2 are the real garbage of kashmir. They dont have the balls to call a spade a spade. Look at the history of the Valley since our Independence. That – Sheikh Abdulla, friend of Nehru, wanted to be the PM of kashmir. Baap ki jagir hai kya? And these 2 – mehboobs & abdula never talk about the Native Pundits thrown out of their homes 29 years ago. No sympathy for the Devils!
