Various students appearing in the examination for Bachelors of Education (B Ed) from Kashmir University Saturday alleged that their today’s paper was available on social networking site ahead of examination.
During past few days, there were rumors that question papers of B Ed exams have leaked. The papers were posted on various facebook pages but to everyone’s surprise, the rumor turned reality. The Saturday’s B Ed paper was photocopy of the leaked papers, giving blot to tall claims of state’s higher education system.
A delegation of B Ed students called on a local news agency, GNS, office with complaint regarding the leakage of papers. The delegation while expressing strong resentment over the incident took dig at University of Kashmir administration. “As it was known to all that B Ed papers have leaked in the market and are easily available on social networking sites, still university authorities kept mum on this serious issue,” the delegation said.
“Psychology paper was also leaked two days before the scheduled day of exam,” a B Ed student wishing anonymity told GNS, adding that “another subject, Development of Education, which was scheduled to be held today was also available to the students, mostly non-local Biharis, who have made complete mockery of this professional degree.”
The students demanded immediate interference of university authorities in the issue and do justice to them. “The varsity must check this menace immediately so that the motive of exams may not be affected and that justice may be done to hardworking and deserving students,” the students added.
When contacted Vice Chancellor, University of Kashmir, Prof Talat Ahmad, said, I’m busy in the meeting. “I’ve other business to do,” VC said.
Despite repeated attempts, Controller Examination, Prof Abdul Salam Bhat could not be contacted.
