The story of Kashmir was that a 10-year-old Madrassa pass-out boy wearing a skull cap and a short trouser thinks Kashmiris are living in slavery under Hindus and that Hoors (angels) are waiting for them in Jannah if they fight them (Hindus), believes MP Muzaffar Hussain Baig.

The senior most member of ruling PDP representing North Kashmir in Lok Sabha made such comments in the All Party Meet held in New Delhi under Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday.

“The story of Kashmir is that these boys are calling the shots,” Baig said addressing the four-hour long meet.

The ace lawyer, Baig, explained as “how Kashmir cannot go in to the territory under Pakistan”. “If India wants, it can give other states away but not Kashmir.”

He said Pakistan looked at Kashmir issue through the prism of Two Nation Theory from 1947 till now “but a lot had changed in Jammu Kashmir now and the present struggle in Kashmir was more a Jihad less a political struggle”.

Justifying as why curfew was imposed in North Kashmir’ Baig said that women in Baramulla were “creating trouble by coming out on the streets and raising slogans”. “Resultantly, imposing curfew during the hours Hurriyat called for relaxation was necessary,” said Baig. He was reacting to MP Asaduddin’s comments as why curfew was not lofted from certain parts.

Declining to accept the argument that people in Kashmir were very angry with PDP’s alliance with right wing BJP, Baig observed, “1.25 crore people of Jammu Kashmir aligned with 1.25 billion people of India.”
