The separatist leader and Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G), Syed Ali Geelani pronounced marriage sermon of two bridegrooms at his residence in uptown Srinagar on Monday.
According to Spokesman of Hurriyat Conference (G), Shiekh Akhtar and Shiekh Adil, the two bridegrooms had wished that their marriage sermon should be pronounced by Syed Ali Geelani but as latter has been continuously put under house arrest, they had to come to his residence to get the requirements done.
“In a ceremony held at his residence, Geelani extended his good wishes to bridegrooms, who were joined by their families,” the spokesman Hurriyat (G) informed. “The solution of problems faced by our society, lie in teachings of beloved Prophet Mohammad (SAW).”
He called upon youth to follow the Holy Quran and Prophet’s Sunnah in letter and spirit. “Marriages should be conducted in an austere manner for the larger good of society,” he said on the occasion.
