Humanitarian and spiritual leader of India, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar who is in Kashmir Tuesday said that India and Pakistan should come forward and resolve Kashmir issue in an amicable way.
“Both Pakistan and India should sit across the table and resolve all the disputes including Kashmir issue amicably,” Sri Sri told CNS adding that Hurriyat leaders should also shown keenness in meaningful dialogue.
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said he personally believe that Kashmir issue could be resolved only through dialogue. “It would be good if both the countries come forward and have a purposeful dialogue on all the issues. Separatist leaders of Kashmir should also take initiative and should go for dialogue,” he said.
Refusing to comment on contentious AFSPA and Gool killings, Sri Sri said that consensus over the revocation of AFSPA is possible only when militancy in Valley would vanish.
He termed it as unfortunate that educated youth of Valley are still unemployed and wander from pillar to post in search of jobs. “It is heartening to see unemployed youth of Kashmir Valley wandering from pillar to post in search of jobs. Government must take some initiatives to redress their problems,” he said.
