This Bank has brought commerce, comfort and respect to the people of this state. Through its growing network of business units (branches) it has generated enormous economic activity across the state serving both haves and have- nots of the society. This Bank makes all of us feel proud.

Abdul Rahim Rather, Minister of Finance and Ladakh Affairs J&K, stated this after inaugurating the J&K Bank’s Business Unit at Loolipora, Chadoora in presence of Bank’s Executive President Abdul Hamid Banday and Cluster Head Mohammad Ayoub Wanchoo. Loan sanctioning letters were also distributed among the beneficiaries on the occasion.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by a large gathering comprising of senior citizens, traders, fruit growers, teachers, students, women and other local residents.

The minister thanked the Bank for its relentless support and deepening commitment towards people of the state. He advised the people to deposit their money for both short and long-term with the Bank for desirable returns.

“There is no alternative to hard-work and better application of mind. The loans you avail from the Bank must be put to proper use and returned well in time. I have seen thousands of entrepreneurs touching skies doing simply this thing. This is the only way to succeed and earn respect”, he said.

Urging the audience to co-operate with the Bank people, he added, “Those who serve people deserve our utmost respect and J&K Bank is serving the people with a deep sense of belonging. Even Governor RBI Dr D Subbarao appreciated their efforts recently.”

Earlier, Executive President Abdul Hamid Banday thanked the minister for sparing his valuable time for inauguration despite his tight schedule and said that the Bank in its Platinum Jubilee year has surpassed the targets of one lac crore business and one thousand crore net profit.

He further said, “With Loolipora, the total number of Bank’s business units has reached 691. We plan to take the number to 800 during this year.”

Informing the audience about Bank’s achievements in district Budgam, he said, “During the last three years twenty new business units have been established in the district. The CD Ratio in the district is 52 per cent as against around 40 per cent in the state. Loolipora is 36th business unit in the district and we plan to add 8 B.U’s and 3 ATMs in the coming months.”

The Bank shall also provide Locker facilities at Loolipora, he added.
