One man lost his life in mid-night earthquake which shook Kashmir in the intervening night of Friday Saturday.

The tremor had its epicentre in Tajik-Afghanistan border with 6.5 on Richter scale. It hit Pakistan-Kashmir region around 12:45 AM according Indian sub-continent time.

Reports reaching here said that a man died of heart the earthquake hit.

“Zarid Ahmad, son of  Sher Mohammad, a resident of Gulatha Harni in Mendhar, suffered a shock during the earthquake,” police were quoted as having said.

He was 32. He rushed outside his house along with his children suffering a shock and died on the spot.
