Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Monday visited the Parraypora acid-attack victim who is currently under treatment at the Indraprashta Appolo Hospital in New Delhi. He was accompanied by senior Hurriyat leader and Peoples Conference Chairman Bilal Gani Lone.
The leaders, according to sources, while expressing anguish over the heinous act expressed sympathies with the victim and her family. They also prayed for speedy recovery of the victim and offered all possible assistance to the family.
Meanwhile, the Mirwaiz confirmed to KNS over phone that the leaders visited the victim at the Appolo Hospital.
However, he said such unfortunate and inhuman incidents should be kept away from politics. “The visit was only meant to express sympathy with the victim and her family apart from wishing a speedy recovery to the victim. Such incidents are highly condemnable and no politics should be played over them”, he said.
While terming the acid throwing incident as a wake up call for reform in the society, the Mirwaiz called for stern punishment to the culprits.
