Asking Kashmiri Pandits to pay heed to the “propaganda of communal fanatics”, Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Saturday urged them to return to their homes in Kashmir Valley.

Rejecting the demand of Panun Kashmir for a separate homeland, Mirwaiz said that such an idea was a clear reflective of communal thinking ingrained in that party.

He said that Hurriyat Conference has made it clear it would never accept the split of Jammu and Kashmir on religious or regional basis “since it would stoke fire which would be impossible to douse.”

“Kashmiri Pandits are inalienable part of Kashmiri society,” he said, urging the Pandit community not to pay heed to the “propaganda of communal fanatics”. “They should return to their respective homes in Kashmir,” he added, according to KNS.

Addressing a gathering at Masjid Sharief Rozabal Khanyar here, Mirwaiz said that it was the duty of every individual to respects human and Islamic values to make a healthy society, free of all the evils.

He, however, said the speed at which the social evils are spreading in Kashmiri society, it has come as a big challenge for the conscious class of the society.

Mirwaiz said the preservation of Islamic values and Islamic identity was the main responsibility of Kashmiris. “If Kashmiris fail to shoulder those responsibilities, it would have devastating consequences on Kashmiri society,” he added.
