Jammu

The proceedings of the state assembly started with a strong protest from opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and independent lawmaker Er Rasheed against the imposition of curfew in the Kashmir valley. Rasheed jumped into the well of the house and shouted against the restrictions in place in Kashmir. Rasheed also protested against house arresting Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani on reaching Srinagar on Thursday.

As the speaker of the house Mubarak Gul appeared the PDP members stood up and started shouting slogans against the government for imposing restrictions in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir. They alleged that government has failed to satisfy the people and now it is imposing restrictions to “hide its failures”.

In the meantime MLA Langate Er Rasheed also joined the protesting PDP members and started shouting against the government. He came in the well of the house during which he had some heated arguments with the BJP members.
