Clashes erupted in Palhallan Monday afternoon between protestors and the men in uniform.

Local sources said that it was normal since morning but in the afternoon situation turned volatile and ding dong battles started between forces and locals.

“Heavy deployment was there outside the village amid normal business but in the afternoon a police Rakshak vehicle came and disturbed the whole situation,” a local told Kashmir Life over phone.

He said that police started firing in air and protests and stone pelting started spontaneously. Sources said that the Rakshak was attacked and the personnel in it started tear gas shelling and aerial firing.

“The clashes are going on,” he added.

Meanwhile reports reaching from Bandipora said that violent protests started in Papchan area.

“Stone pelting is going on here while forces retaliated with tear canister shelling,” a local from the area said.

Pertinently, a youth was killed by forces in Naidkhai last Friday evening. Since then Bandipora district is witnessing clashes and protests.
