Mutahida Majlis Mashawarat (MMM) on Sunday met with all its constituents and issued a fresh week long protest calendar. The MMM revised its calendar in view of “Pakistan Day”.

It had earlier called for shutdown on March 23, but keeping in view the “Pakistan Day” on March 23, it has now called for shutdown on March 20.

However, the MMM has made it clear in its press statement that MMM is not any independent political party but an amalgam of Hurriyat (G), Hurriyat (M), JKLF, Dakhtaran-e- Millat, Bar Association and Jamaat-e-Islami.

“In the MMM meetings representatives from all the parties and amalgams put forward their views and then after a thorough discussion protest calendar are issued”, reads the statement.

The week long revised protest calendar is as follows:

March 18, 2013, Monday: protests from Magrib to Isha prayers.

March 19, 2013, Tuesday: students are asked to protest in colleges and universities and they should offer joint (Baa Jamaat) Zuhar prayers.

March 20, 2013, Wednesday: Complete shutdown

March 21, 2013, Thursday: blackout from Magrib to Isha prayers.

March 22, 2013, Friday: read Kanoot Nazila and resolutions should be passed in Masjids to seek people’s endorsement for MMM protests.

March 23, 2013, Saturday: Human Rights Activists and Civil societies are asked to protest at Jantar Mantar Delhi

March 24, 2013, Sunday: resume routine work, no protest.

The MMM has made it clear in their press statement that all the protest should remain peaceful.

MMM, was formed for the aim to chalk out a “joint strategy” against the Afzal Guru’s hanging issue and spearhead an agitation to press for the body of parliament attack convict.
