A self-styled Godman was arrested by Rajouri police for allegedly outraging the modesty of a married woman – a mother of six.
Shahbaz Ahmed Qazi s/o Mohammad Azam of Thanamandi’s Azmtabad was arrested after the woman filed a complaint against her.
The accused claiming to provide relief to the sufferers through spiritual measures faced an FIR No 191/15 under sections 323/376 & 511 RPC.
As per the police, the incident happened when a mother of 6 children and wife of Mohammad Shakoor of Manyal-B went to meet the “Peer Sahib to seek his blessing” for her son’s health. “It was then he locked the door from inside and outraged the modesty of the victim by tearing off her clothes,” the police said.
The victim managed to unlock the door and escaped from the spot and subsequently reported the matter to Thanamandi Police Station. Amid mounting public pressure, the police arrested and lodged an FIR against the accused.
However, the mother of the accused ‘Godman’ has said that her son is “innocent”.
Police should interogate that self styled Godman deeply. His connection may be with terrorism too.
