Hurriyat (JK) leaders Shabir Ahmad Shah and Nayeem Ahmad Khan were Friday evening shifted to district jail Kupwara.

Hurriyat (JK) spokesman informed Kashmir Life that Shah and Khan were first taken to Police Control Room from police station Rajbagh and then shifted to Kupwara jail. He added that another Hurriyat (JK) leader Mohammad Yousuf Naqash was also shifted to district jail Kupwara.

Sources said that Salvation Movement chairman, Zaffar Akbar Bhat was also shifted to the same jail. All the said separatists were arrested on Thursday.

JKLF chairman, Mohammad Yasin Malik and Hurriyat (G) spokesman Ayaz Akbar have been lodged in police stations Kothibagh and Parimpora respectively.

Many separatist leaders and activists have been arrested since last two days much ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. The state elections are scheduled to start from November 25.

Separatist parties and amalgams like Hurriyat (G), JKLF and Hurriyat (JK) were planning a poll boycott campaign.
