Srinagar

At least twenty one people were attacked and injured by stray dogs in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday.

Reports said that a pack of stray dogs appeared in Kantbagh area today morning and attacked scores of people. In the incident, twenty-one persons were injured this morning, locals said, adding that the canines have spread a reign of terror among school going children in the area.

All the injured were taken to District Hospital Baramulla for treatment, they said. However, the lack of vaccine at the hospital created difficulties for relatives of the victims who had to buy it from private medical stores at higher rates, the attendants told newsgatherer.

Meanwhile,  Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Baramulla Dr Bashir Ahmad Chalkoo when contacted said that they have already given instructions to all the hospitals to make available all kind of emergency vaccines.

CMO said that “he will look into the matter as to why the hospital is lacking the vaccine”.  (GNS)
