PDP-BJP

The deadlock over the government formation is likely to end in near future as BJP-PDP have after more than a month of impasse resolved to stitch a common ground together.

Top sources revealed to KNS that the new government in the state would be witnessed after the Chehlum (40th day-mourning period would be over). The former chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed passed away on January 7 at AIIMS New Delhi and only after February 17 this year, a major breakthrough in the present deadlock is likely to be witnessed.

Sources said that the PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti would assume office of the chief minister of the state in the month of February and that the hectic deliberations from both the sides have entered into the final phase.

BJP secretary general Ram Madhav, who is in charge of Jammu and Kashmir affairs, is all set to hold one-on-one talks with Mehbooba Mufti.

Furthermore, the BJP high command which held back to back three high level meetings within at New Delhi has resolved to inform the PDP president that the agenda of alliance that both the parties had drafted last year in March would be implemented in letter and spirit. However, what could prove as worrisome for the PDP leadership is that the BJP high command is not going to edit the agenda of alliance but would adhere to earlier drafted policy.

PDP president had earlier pitched for the JK specific CBMs before the union government and had asked the BJP to come clear over the implementation of the agenda of alliance in Jammu and Kashmir.

BJP high command as per sources has resolved to pitch for status quo on various issues that proved contentious between the two alliance partners in the past 10 months. A senior BJP politician said that the BJP-PDP government would be witnessed in the state any time between February to March 1st week.

Meanwhile, both the PDP and the BJP are eyeing on Mehbooba- Madhav meet that is likely to take place soon and it would ascertained only after the meet that which political coarse the state would witness ahead.
