The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir emphasized that the recent elections have safeguarded the Constitution and reflected the people’s verdict.

Talking to reporters here, Farooq Abdullah stated, “This time there will be a strong opposition. When I was in Parliament, we were weak. No one listened to us and there was a dictatorship, but thank God the dictatorship is over now.”

When questioned about the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) forming the government for the third consecutive time, Abdullah responded, “Let them form the government, then we will see.” He advised patience regarding the success of the new NDA government, saying, “We should wait and see what happens.”

Abdullah highlighted the power of the people, calling it a significant achievement of the elections. “People have power and this has been proved in these elections. This is a big achievement. People have the power to vote and they can make or break anyone,” he remarked.

Criticizing the exit polls, the NC president suggested that pollsters should close their shops and apologize to the public. “Those who had claimed 370-400 crosses, I think they should stop these exit polls, they should close their shops. These people (exit pollers) are creating misunderstanding among the people. One should apologize to the people for creating it,” he said.(KNO)
