The endeavor, spearheaded by the dedicated volunteers of the RTI Movement, aimed to provide a rare outing opportunity for the senior citizens and economically disadvantaged couples. “This trip aimed to ensure that senior citizens and other weaker sections of society are taken out for an outing as they hardly get a chance to visit such places due to obvious reasons. I am grateful to the CEO of Mech Alfa and Al Fallah Machinery group Kralpora,  Shahbaz, for sponsoring this trip,” expressed Dr Raja Muzaffar Bhat, Chairman of the RTI Movement.

Mubashir Bashir, spokesman of Mech Alfa, Al Fallah Machinery Kralpora, shared, “It was a great experience to host this event as we always support such kinds of work. We have been watching the work of the RTI Movement group, and being a commercial organization, it is also our social obligation to handhold economically weaker sections of society. Instead of giving paid advertisements to social media influencers, we deemed it fit to sponsor the work of social organizations. This helps them to do good work and it gives us some commercial benefits also.”

For many of the senior citizens, this outing was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, their first visit to the serene Yusmarg. The joy and appreciation were palpable as they explored the beautiful landscape. Dr. Raja Muzaffar extended his gratitude to the local authorities for their indispensable support. “I thank Chief Engineer Irrigation Kashmir Mr Naresh Kumar, Executive Engineer Mr. Zaffar Khan, JE Mohammad Shafi, and the staff of the Irrigation Department Yusmarg for their support in providing local logistic support,” he acknowledged.

This initiative not only provided a delightful day out for the participants but also exemplified the impact of community collaboration in uplifting the lives of the less fortunate. The picnic at Yusmarg will be remembered as a day of joy, companionship, and the spirit of giving back to the community.
