JKEDI, Govt Polytechnic College Jammu Sign MoU

   

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) and Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk College, Jammu, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday to collaborate on enhancing students’ skills and knowledge in entrepreneurship, innovation, and startups.

The MoU was signed at a formal ceremony held at JKEDI’s Baribrahmana campus, attended by key officials from both institutions.

The MoU aims to collaborate on curriculum design, providing inputs on teaching methodologies, customizing the curriculum to prepare students effectively for entrepreneurial scenarios, industrial training and visits, internships, research and development, skill development programs, and guest lectures.

Speaking at the event, Director JKEDI, Rajinder Kumar Sharma (JKAS), said, “JKEDI will support internships for students of Government Polytechnic College, Jammu, based on recommendations through proper channels and subject to suitable positions and criteria fulfillment. We have agreed to conduct joint research activities in Entrepreneurship Development and Startup Culture in J&K. Students will also receive training in emerging technologies to bridge the skill gap and prepare them for industry.”

Er Arun Bangotra, Principal of Government Polytechnic College, Jammu, highlighted the partnership’s significance in enhancing students’ skills and knowledge in entrepreneurship, innovation, and startups. He mentioned that Government Polytechnic Jammu has established a Center for Invention, Innovation, Incubation, and Training (CIIIT) to provide training in the latest trends of Manufacturing Technology and Automobile Engineering, aligning with Industry 4.0, with support from Tata Technologies Ltd, Pune.

The interaction between industry and institutions will provide insights into the latest industry developments and requirements. This collaboration will build students’ confidence and prepare them for a seamless transition from academia to their careers.

This MoU aims to offer students enhanced opportunities to develop entrepreneurial skills and contribute to the economic growth of the region. Both institutions will collaborate on faculty development programs, including workshops, seminars, and training sessions, to enhance teaching methodologies and subject expertise.
