JAMMU: A man was taken into custody on Saturday following the circulation of a video depicting him allegedly assaulting a 70-year-old female relative due to a land dispute, according to officials.
The accused, identified as Prabhleen Singh, is the woman’s nephew, authorities reported.
A police spokesperson confirmed that Singh, a resident of Digiana, was arrested and faces charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. The viral video prompted immediate action from the R S Pura police station, leading to a case registration and investigation.
The spokesperson added that further investigative procedures are ongoing.
