AC Approves Creation of 342 Posts for High-Security Prison in Jammu and Kashmir

   

SRINAGAR: The High-Security Prison, being built at a cost of Rs 87.81 crores, will accommodate 240 high-risk prisoners. Managed by the Police Housing Corporation, the construction is expected to be completed by February 2025.

The Administrative Council, chaired by Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of JK, approved the creation of 342 posts in various categories for the High-Security Prison at Dhambra Mahanpur village in Kathua District.

This facility will incarcerate criminals, maintain public order, prevent future crimes, and help de-crowd existing jails.

The meeting was attended by Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor; Atal Dulloo, Chief Secretary; and Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor.
