Army Major Commits Suicide at JK’s Akhnoor Border

   

SRINAGAR: An Army Major from Jalandhar’s Laddewali, stationed at the Akhnoor border in Jammu and Kashmir, committed suicide, Indian express reported.

Identified as Mubarak Singh Padda, an ASC officer, his body was brought back to Jalandhar for the final rites, honored with the tricolor.

Major Ramit Singh, who served alongside Padda, mentioned they trained together and Major Mubarak was posted in various locations, including Uttarakhand, West Bengal, and Jammu and Kashmir.

It also reported that the reason for Padda’s actions remains unknown, but it is confirmed he took his own life. Investigations are ongoing.

Padda, married for two years, has a brother serving in the Indian Air Force. His family is bewildered as he showed no signs of distress.

After locking himself in a room, Padda shot himself, according to family sources. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries at Udhampur Command Hospital.

Major Ramit Singh confirmed Padda’s posting in the 28 Infantry Brigade Sundarbani.
