SRINAGAR: A firm allegedly selected as the lowest bidder for providing temporary facilities for the Amarnath Yatra 2024 is reportedly blacklisted by a government body in Maharashtra, Daily Excelsior reported here.
The tender document states that any bidder barred by the Central Government, State Government, or public sector undertaking in the last five years is ineligible.
The bidding process for the project, estimated at Rs 350 lakh, was conducted by the Srinagar Municipal Corporation.
M/s Bhutani International Pvt Ltd emerged as the lowest bidder, but sources reveal it is blacklisted by the Tujapur Municipal Council in Maharashtra until March 2027 for failing to provide an adequate number of temporary toilets during a previous event.
Commissioner of Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Dr Owais Ahmed, stated that necessary action would be taken if the firm is found technically ineligible and blacklisted.
