SRINAGAR: The Supreme Court Collegium recommended a one-year extension for Justice Rajesh Sekhri as an additional judge of the Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court.
The recommendation was made due to the unavailability of a permanent judge vacancy, as per the resolution published on the Supreme Court’s official website.
Following the recommendation by the High Court’s Collegium on April 23, the apex court Collegium consulted relevant bench members familiar with the affairs of the High Court.
A two-judge committee assessed Justice Sekhri’s judgments, rating them as well-reasoned with thorough analysis and supported by appropriate case laws.
After reviewing the available material, the Collegium recommended his extension, effective from July 29 this year.
