SRINAGAR: The Mughal Road, connecting Kashmir Valley’s Shopian district with twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch, has been closed due to a landslide in the Mansar area on Friday late evening, officials said here.
An official said that the incident prompted authorities to shut down the road to ensure the safety of travelers.
He said that the landslide has deposited debris on the road, making it unsafe for vehicular movement. Road maintenance crews have been dispatched to clear the obstruction as quickly as possible.
“We anticipate that the road will be cleared and reopened within a few hours. We appreciate the patience and cooperation of the public as we address this situation,” he said.
“Travelers are advised to use alternative routes in the meantime and to stay updated on the latest developments through local news and traffic advisories,” the official said.
