SRINAGAR: The Wildlife Department captured a ‘man-eater’ leopard at Zamboor Pattan in Uri, in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, on Saturday.
The leopard is suspected to be the same one that mauled a four-year-old girl to death about ten days ago in Zamboor Pattan and made abortive bids on a few other locals.
Following the incident involving the death of the minor girl, the Wildlife Department, had been vigilant and installed two cages, which yielded results as the suspected leopard was found trapped in one of the cages this morning.
The locals have heaved a sigh of relief and hailed the wildlife officials for their efforts in capturing the ferocious beast. (GNS)
