Vitasta Cultural Festival: Pre Events In Srinagar, Budgam Witness Huge Turnout

   

SRINAGAR: The packed auditoriums of Amar Singh College in Srinagar and Nawakadal Women’s College witnessed captivating moments on Saturday as folk artists took the stage during pre-event programs of the renowned ‘Vitasta Cultural Festival’.

Similar programs were organized in various locations in central Kashmir’s Budgam district as well.

The range of artistic performances included captivating art forms such as Bhand Pather, Gojri, Dhambali, Bach Nagma, Rauf, and other expressions of cultural heritage, including traditional songs, graceful dances, and presentations.

The performances highlighted a diverse range of art forms representing Jammu and Kashmir’s rich cultural heritage and traditional legacy.

Pre-event programs featuring cultural performances and exhibitions of Jammu and Kashmir’s heritage are currently taking place in various locations across the Valley. These events aim to encourage public participation and foster a connection with the upcoming three-day ‘Vitasta’ cultural festival, scheduled to be held at the esteemed Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) from June 23 to 25.

The prestigious festival, along with its pre-events, is organized by the Union Ministry of Culture through the North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala. One of the primary goals of this festival is to advance Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ (One India, Great India) under the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative.

Additionally, the festival aims to provide a platform for artists representing diverse art forms of Kashmiri folk culture and offer them a valuable opportunity to showcase their skills while contributing to the preservation and promotion of the illustrious artistic heritage that characterizes Kashmiri folk culture.

Meanwhile, the organizers have announced a range of pre-events scheduled to take place at picturesque spots in Srinagar and elsewhere on Sunday. The venues include Kong Posh Park, Zero Bridge, Zabarwan Park, Badamwari Garden in Srinagar, and the scenic Alusteng village in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. (KNO)
