SRINAGAR: A meeting was convened under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad at the DC Office Complex meeting hall in Srinagar on Wednesday to review the Action Plan for implementing the ‘Ayushman Bhava‘ programme in the district.

At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner assessed the strategy for the rollout of the Ayushman Bhava programme scheduled from September 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023. The program aims to achieve 100 percent coverage of all health schemes in mission mode and ensure the efficient delivery of these schemes to every intended beneficiary in the Srinagar District.

During the meeting, the DC received firsthand assessments from all the relevant departments regarding the implementation of Ayushman Bhava. A detailed discussion was held on the formulation of action plans, strategies, and planning to achieve the established targets.

The meeting also involved a thorough discussion regarding the identification of catchment areas and the formulation of schedules for conducting awareness campaigns in schools, colleges, health centers, and Anganwadi Centers throughout the district.

During the meeting, the DC emphasised the need for line departments to provide full support for the successful implementation of the scheme in Srinagar District. He requested that officers from concerned departments submit department-wise schedules of events to be conducted for the implementation of the ‘Ayushman Bhava‘ programme in the district.

The DC also urged officers to conduct meetings with subordinate staff to ensure the successful execution of the program and the achievement of targets within the set timelines.

The DC highlighted the importance of launching a massive Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign across the city, particularly at prominent public places, ward level, and Panchayat level. This campaign aims to make people fully aware of the ‘Ayushman Bhava‘ programme and to ensure comprehensive and widespread coverage of all health schemes so that every eligible beneficiary can avail of the benefits.

Earlier, a PowerPoint presentation provided the Deputy Commissioner with an overview of the ‘Ayushman Bhava‘ programme, including various activities planned under it, such as Ayushman Apke Dwar 3.0, Ayushman Sabha, Ayushman Mela, and the screening of children.

Among others, the meeting was attended by the Joint Commissioner of SMC, Programme Officer of ICDS, Chief Planning Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, Warden Gujar & Bakerwal Srinagar, Block Development Officer, all Zonal Medical Officers, District Program Manager, District Coordinator of CSC, District Implementation Officer of SHA, and other concerned officials.
