SRINAGAR: In a significant move aimed at enhancing passenger convenience, the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counter has been successfully installed at Anantnag railway station, according to railway officials.

A senior railway official informed KNO that this new facility enables travellers to book tickets directly through a mobile phone application, providing a hassle-free way to manage their travel plans.

He also mentioned that in case of ticket cancellations, refunds will be credited directly to passengers’ accounts, eliminating the need for physical contact with railway authorities.

This progressive step has been warmly welcomed by the general public, as it not only streamlines the ticketing process but also promotes safety during these challenging times.

Ticket booking services at Anantnag railway station are set to commence from Monday, fulfilling a long-standing demand, especially from passengers in South Kashmir districts.

Furthermore, railway authorities announced plans to introduce similar passenger-friendly counters at other railway stations along the Baramulla-Banihal railway track in the near future.

This expansion is expected to further enhance the seamless travel experience for commuters, they noted. (KNO)
