SRINAGAR: A three-storey residential house was damaged in a fire incident in the Chanapora area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Tuesday night.

An official reported that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit in the three-storeyed house with a pacca GCI sheet roof.

“The fire damaged the ceiling, doors, windows, furnishings, bedding, internal wooden fixtures, refrigerator, geyser, washing machine, laptop, gold jewellery, and other household items on the ground and first floors,” ofiicial said.

Additionally, an adjacent single-storey Food and Supplies store suffered indirect damage from heat and water.

Meanwhile, the police have initiated an investigation into the incident. (KS)
